Creatures and Companions is my first custom Dunny series, made up of 11 sets, which is be released October 27 at Tenacioustoys.com as part of their Super Series Sundays. Each set includes one Creature (a customized Dunny), one Companion (a customized Funkey or vinyl Munny accessory), in a paper mache box with a painted lid. The series is blind-boxed, with the final pairings being predetermined, which can be seen in the below images. Each Creature and Companion is approximately 3” tall, comprised of vinyl, Magic Sculpt, and acrylic paint. Each painting’s size range from 5″x5″ to 7″x7″, comprised of paper mache, gesso, and acrylic paint. Randomly inserted into two of the boxes will be a golden ticket which will be redeemable for a customized 2.5″ Qee or 4” Mini Munny (specified on ticket), both of which will come in a box with painted lid. See below for what all will be available.

House cleaning and Fathers Day Sale…
June 13th, 2013So behind in updates, so lets get to it…
First off, in honor of the upcoming Father’s Day I wanted to offer a discount. Being a father and a collector of art and toys, I can feel for the plight of other fathers who also collect. To help their (or their loved ones’ burden) I am offering a 15% discount in my store (alarment.storenvy.com) by using the discount code ‘fathersday’ for the rest of the month. If you are looking for that one of a kind gift for that dad of yours, look no further. Or if you want to treat yourself (being a parent or not), know that you will helping this father out by buying some of my stuff so I can buy more toys!
Now for the updates…
I was recently nominated in Clutter Magazine‘s Designer Toy Awards for Best Customizer. It is a great honor to be nominated among so many other very talented artists in this genre.
I also participated in Kidrobot‘s MunnyMunth contest, with my entry being “Rockwell” (available at alarment.storenvy.com).
I recently completed “Speechless”, a glow in the dark Mini Munny (available at alarment.storenvy.com).
I was also asked to be part of a Hellraiser themed custom Kidrobot mascot series, entitled “Cenobots”. For this series, I created “Murmur” and “Eyesore”. The whole series was purchased by one buyer!
I participated in the Project QiQi custom toy exhibit for ToyCon UK, which took place in London, UK. My entry’s name was “Vacancy”.
I also donated an acrylic painting named “III” to the Center For Visual Arts in Greensboro, NC for their 100 for 100 fundraising show.
And finally, I donated these custom vinyl pieces “BW” and “Goldie” to the Art for a Cure cause, which appeared in the POP Start Smart show at the Marte museum in Cava dei Tirreni, Caserta, Italy.
Plastic Chapel…
December 13th, 2012I had to chance to participate in another vinyl show this past November, this one being at the Plastic Chapel in Denver, Colorado. The show’s name was The Dunny Show, in which artists were asked to submit 3″ Dunnys.
Coming off just completing my series of Creatures and Companions, I decided I wanted my Dunnys for this show to be similar in style, but to give them a different color scheme and add to irises and pupils to these rather than the veiny blanks the others had. I started off with a set of three since I didn’t know if I would finish them in time for the show.
But I finished in plenty of time, so I sculpted four more and decided to try a different take on the eyes, and decided to go with black rather than white.
After seeing them as a group and noticing the organic/elemental feel to them, I named them Bug, Césped, Cielo, Earth, Flame, Frost, and Marsh. Depending on if or how many sell at the show, the rest will eventually be available at my storenvy site.
Night Terrors…
December 9th, 2012This past October, I had the honor of being included in the inaugural series of Matt Anderson’s Night Terror Owl custom series. The Night Terror Owl is a resin sculpt based off the 3″ Dunny Platform by Matt Anderson. After designing this figure, he asked if any artists would be interested in customizing a Night Terror to be part of a series release, so I jumped at the chance. The series of 24 was eventually released at New York Comic Con, and was bought as a complete set by one collector! Because of the popularity and with all pieces ending up in the hands of one person, expect to see more custom Night Terror Owls. I am not sure if there will be a second artist series, but I know Matt has asked Rsin, Osiris Orion, and myself to do a few more customs on this Night Terror base. So be on the look out in 2013 to see more of this coming out. See below for some images of my Night Terror.
Androids Three…
August 2nd, 2012I was recently commissioned to create three new custom pieces, with the base being the DIY vinyl Android platform The only stipulation given was that the future owner wanted all three to be different and to include some sculpted elements to it. I had already started work on a transparent green android, but had not planned on sculpting on it. With a little brainstorming came up with this:
Once ol greenie was completed, I focused my efforts on the next two androids. I knew that these two would have much more sculpting involved. I decided to use these two pieces as a warmup for my upcoming Creatures and Companions series of customs, which rely on the use of heavy textures and a biological influence. From this direction came Mouth and Goldskull (see below)
As always, if you too are interested in a commissioned custom or any type of artwork, I can be contacted via comments here, my Facebook page, Facebook fan page, Storenvy site, or via email (alarment @ gmail . com).

Creatures and Companions (WIP)
August 1st, 2012Here are some work-in-progess (WIP) shots of an upcoming series of figures I have been working on for some time. I have decided to call the series Creatures and Companions. This series is made up of the following:
Eleven custom 3″ Dunnys – The Creatures
Seven custom Funkeys and Four custom original sculpts (underlying base of vinyl Android head or Munny accessory) – The Companions
One custom Mini Munny
One custom 2.5″ Mini Qee
The series will be offered in eleven individual pairings, one Dunny and one Companion. Each set will be offered blind boxed, with two lucky people finding a “golden ticket” in their sets. One ticket will be redeemable for the custom Qee while the other will be for the Mini Munny.

The Provocateurs (Zukie Vs The World)
July 21st, 2012I had the honor of being invited by Ms. Zukie (Alison Perez) to participate in the Zukie Vs. The World show. The Zukie is Alison’s new do-it-yourself (DIY) vinyl platform, and for this show many very talented artists (and then me) were asked to take the Zukie and put our own spin on it. This will be the second time that I will have something on display at ToyTokyo’s TTUnderground this year (the other being my custom Outer Space Men).
The following event details were taken from TTUnderground’s site.

Tainted and birthday sale…
April 9th, 2012I just finished two new pieces, “Tainted (1 and 2)”. They are custom 3″ Android vinyl toys. This was my first foray into customizing the toy representation of Google’s Android mascot, and I’m pleased with how they came out. I guess I was not the only one, because they both sold before I even had the chance to edit proper pics of them. Stay tuned, I am working on lots of stuff, including some more custom ThreeA figures, some Funkeys, and a series or two of 3″ Dunnys, all of which will be hitting my online store:
http://alarment.storenvy.com/
Speaking of online store, in honor of this being my birthday month, I am offering a special discount till the end of the April. So when you check out at my online store, just use the following discount code
bday15
to receive 15% off the listed price of any item!

so behind… (La Belleza, Outer Space Men, M’Ickey)
March 9th, 2012I really hate doing this, lumping together several different works into one post. I keep finding that I forget to update here with each new project completed. Bad updater…

Anyways.. it has been a busy 2012 so far for me art-wise. Three shows in three months, and for each of these shows only a couple weeks (or less) to prepare a piece for each.
I already posted about the first show, Kickflip (see here). Originally, I was going to submit two pieces, but already found a buyer for one of the decks, so it didn’t make it to the show.
This skateboard deck is titled “La Belleza”.
I then found out about another show that was happening in February that I wanted to participate in. The show is called Toypocalypse 2: Futuretro and was held at the TT Underground Showroom in NYC.
Found out about this show very late, and after getting my hands on some Outer Space Men, I had about a week to get them done.
For some images from the show, click here.
And again, found out about another showcaswe (Play Imaginative x Disney) very late in the game. After seeing what my fellow customizes where doing with this blank Mickey, I knew I wanted to be part of this as well.
So I came up with M’Ickey
As always, to see more images, please visit my ART GALLERY and thanks for looking!
